A Look Inside Lost Civilizations

Atlantis. Lemuria. Mu. Eden. These famous names always bring to mind fantastic images of sprawling, idealized civilizations and idyllic, utopian climes. But did they exist? The established archeological community would be quick to respond with an emphatic no. But more and more experts are coming forward now—in addition to those who have been fighting to make their voices heard for decades—declaring that, yes, these places did in fact exist in some form.

The world is forever and always changing. Ocean levels have risen and fallen innumerable times over the millennia. We are just now realizing how even a seemingly miniscule change in sea level can completely alter the way we live. So why is it so difficult to believe that there once existed vast and glorious cultures that, along with their knowledge and histories, were lost to the sands of time or the depthless waters of a Great Flood? Most people cite a lack of any tangible evidence to support this idea, but what they don’t know (or refuse to know) is that there is evidence.

Exposed, Uncovered and Declassified: Lost Civilizations & Secrets of the Past delves into many questions concerning these lost civilizations, including their sometimes gigantic and otherworldly inhabitants, their possible contact with advanced beings and aliens, their religions, and other lost knowledge of a past we all share.

With no past, we can have no future. There is more to history if you know how to look at it and where to look.

Keep Out! Secret Bases and Cosmic Conspiracies by Nick Redfern

Area 51, Hangar 18, Montauk, and the Dulce Base: these are just a handful of the many and varied select, highly-classified installations about which the governments of the United States, Australia, China, Russia, the United Kingdom and elsewhere prefer we, the general public, remain steadfastly ignorant. And those same governments have extremely good reasons for wishing us to remain in the dark.

It is at these very same secret facilities that, for decades, clandestine research is said to have been undertaken into lethal viruses, genetic manipulation, crashed UFOs and deceased alien entities, biological-warfare, mind-control experimentation, futuristic aircraft and spacecraft, teleportation, weather-modification, invisibility, time-travel, and much, much more of a conspiratorial and cosmic nature.

Whether situated deep under the oceans, far below the ground, or within the heart of hidden, remote desert locales, these and many other super-secret places are guarded with a paranoid zeal by those in power who wish to keep their secrets buried and locked far away from prying-eyes. Sometimes, however, the huge, steel, near-impenetrable vault-like doors that help to hide the shocking truths open wide – or are forced open - and the shocking secrets within are revealed…

Bigfoot Conspiracies

The idea that one of the world's most famous monsters - Bigfoot - might be tied to the domain of secret bases and deep and dark conspiracy sounds absurd. Isn’t such a scenario just too outlandish to warrant even a solitary comment? Not everyone thinks so. One of those who offered commentary on such matters was the late Gabe Valdez, a former New Mexico State Police officer who spent a great deal of time digging into rumors that there existed deep below the New Mexican town of Dulce, a huge, alien-controlled installation.

As far as Bigfoot is concerned, Valdez uncovered information that led him to believe many New Mexico-based Bigfoot sightings were actually the work of a covert arm of the U.S. Government possessing the ability to create hologram-style imagery of the hairy man-beasts. The purpose: to scare and deter people from getting too close to some of its secret underground installations.

To hear such a theory coming out of the mouth of a respected police-officer, who had been consulted by none other than the FBI on matters of a cattle-mutilation nature at Dulce in the mid-to-late 1970s, is as deeply fascinating as it is truly unusual, and probably overwhelmingly unique.

Fort Knox Secrets

The saga of the U.S. Army’s Operation Klondike is a highly strange one. It’s one that has its beginnings in the Second World War, has a major connection to a secure location famous for its truly huge gold-reserves, is linked to a priceless ancient treasure, and even has a tie-in with UFOs. It’s a weird story that has at its core the Holy Crown of Hungary, or as it is more famously referred: the Crown of Saint Stephen, the coronation crown used by the Kingdom of Hungary, and which is believed to have been fashioned at some point during the 1100s.

The crown has a remarkable history, to say the very least, having been stolen and recovered on countless occasions, the most recent example of which occurred when Lajos Kossuth, the Regent-President of Hungary, fled the country with the crown in-tow – as a result of the collapse of the Hungarian revolution of 1848 - and summarily buried it in a forested area of Dracula’s home-country of Transylvania! Fortunately, by 1853, the crown had been successfully recovered and was returned to Buda Castle, Budapest, from where Kossuth had originally pilfered it. But, the adventures of the crown were far from over: it was eventually destined to travel overseas, no less.

As the Second World War came to a crashing end, for Hitler and Co., at least, and as the Russians were publicly demonstrating their strength all across Hungary, the crown was secretly handed over to elements of the U.S. 86th Infantry Division – to ensure it stayed firmly out of the hands of the high-ups within the Kremlin.

As a consequence, a secure, heavily-guarded location was chosen to house the priceless, legendary item: the Kentucky-based Fort Knox, the United States’ Bullion Depository, which holds approximately two-and-half percent of all the gold known to have been refined throughout the entirety of human history.

The crown remained there until January 6, 1978, after which date it was returned to the people of Hungary, with a wealth of fanfare and gratitude to the United States, and then-President Jimmy Carter, for ensuring that the Soviets never did succeed in getting their eager claws into the legendary crown.

This would be just another story of political intrigue, were it not for one very strange, and previously secret fact: according to a collection of State Department memoranda of 1956 and 1957, at one point in the 1950s – and as a specific means to ensure that the true and sensitive nature of what they were guarding remained a very murky and questionable issue - the soldiers at Fort Knox were first told that the crate containing the crown actually held both the wings and engine of a flying saucer...

Vampires and Secret Bases

Puerto Rico, or to give it its correct title, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, is what is known as an unincorporated territory of the United States, located in the Caribbean Sea. And according to some, it may very well be the one place – possibly more than any other on the planet - that is home to not just one secret base, but to an overwhelming plethora of classified locations, certainly of a governmental nature, and maybe even of an alien nature, too.

Over the course of the last twenty-years or so, the people of Puerto Rico have been swamped by a multitude of UFO encounters, sightings of strange and unearthly-looking craft surfacing from both mountainous, cavernous lairs and undersea installations, and run-ins with strange, vampire-style creatures that one might accurately describe as the distinctly evil-twin to Steven Spielberg’s benign E.T. Its name is the Chupacabra.

Copyright Nick Redfern

On one of my several expeditions to Puerto Rico, a number of residents suggested it would be a very good idea for me to focus my attention upon the links between the beast and a former U.S. Naval base called Roosevelt Roads, located in the town of Ceiba, but which is today the José Aponte de la Torre Airport.

As far back as 1944, when the base was inaugurated, it was rightly perceived as being a place of prime, strategic importance – and particularly so if the island became the site of hostilities with unfriendly nations. And by 1957, Roosevelt Roads had been officially designated as a Naval-Station.

To demonstrate its importance from a military perspective, the U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command (USNAVSO), had its base of operations at Roosevelt Roads. In January 2004, however, the Navy elected to relocate USNAVSO to Naval Station Mayport, Florida. When the Navy finally moved out of the base – specifically, on March 31, 2004 – it was seen as a victory for those on the island seeking independence. But: what about the link between Roosevelt Roads and the Chupacabra?

According to the stories, which were coming from all across Puerto Rico, a number of captured, and very vicious, Chupacabra had supposedly been briefly held within a secure, secret facility at Roosevelt Roads at some point in the early-1990s, before being secretly shipped to the States – probably to Area 51, or to some similar desert locale. And that, in various incarnations and to varying degrees, this was the story told to me by numerous individuals on the island only makes it even more intriguing.

The 2012 Bunkers

For a number of years, dark rumors have circulated to the effect that government agencies – all around the world – are secretly working to build or revamp huge, underground realms to house senior, elite elements of the establishment who are aware that a worldwide, planetary upheaval will cause massive devastation on December 21, 2012, as gloomily predicted, many assert, centuries ago by the Mayans.

Sounds too bizarre to be true? Or might those same paranoia-filled and conspiracy-saturated souls actually be correct? Let’s take a look at what we know, what we think we know, and what they may not be telling us, or preparing us for.

Some say that Russia is pulling out all the stops to complete the construction of a multitude of underground survival facilities before 2012 hits us, particularly so in some of the more hard-to-access, remote areas of the land. Two such bases are buried deep within the Yamantau and Kosvinsky Mountains in the Urals. And, make no mistake: the installations are very real ones.

Rudimentary construction at both sites was confirmed in the late-1970s by National Reconnaissance Office-controlled spy-satellites. Today, matters have progressed significantly, and data recently collected by further U.S. satellites suggests additional expansion of both places in the last few years has been widespread and intense.

The Kosvinsky site, for example, is now protected by around 1,000-feet of granite. It is a self-contained hub capable – rumor has it - of comfortably housing in excess of 50,000 individuals. As for the Yamantau base, well, one U.S. intelligence source has suggested, it is equal the size of the Washington area within the Beltway.

Then there is Kapustin Yar, a secret Russian site dedicated to the research, development and deployment of rocket-based technologies, which, having been established in 1946 is located in Astrakhan Oblast, between Volgograd and Astrakhan. Rumors coming out of Russia and via data collected from NRO spy-satellites, points towards continued massive, underground digging and construction at Kapustin Yar. Why? To further advance Russian rocket research? Or in which to hide out when the storm hits?

People once sang: “The Russians are coming! The Russians are coming!” Maybe, today, it’s the turn of the Russians to sing another song: “2012 is coming! 2012 is coming!”

More significantly, all of the above represents just the merest fraction of what is secretly going on around us and below us at a multitude of worldwide, classified installations to which only a select few are deemed worthy of entry. The words “Keep Out!” have never been as ominous as they are today…

Major Media (Finally) Gives a Nod Towards Aliens by Carmen Boulter & Xaviant Haze

An article concerning aliens and strange elongated skulls was recently published by one of the world’s foremost news agencies. Like a brushfire weaving its way through a dry desert, this groundbreaking story quickly spread around the globe. If there were ever a case to make for slow disclosure, this news would certainly be it. It’s rare that an article on this subject makes its way to the headlines of Yahoo, MSN, and other mainstream media outlets without it being bashed or discredited. Of course, skeptics and naysayers quickly cried hoax, but ironically those tactics are not working anymore especially since the History Channel’s new season of Ancient Aliens is enjoying record ratings.

It gives us great pleasure to witness this timely event being that our major work entitled Aliens in Ancient Egypt is due for publication in the paradigm shifting year of 2012. It is perfect timing to present material concerning alien mysteries, close encounters, starseeds, and the true purpose of the pyramid fields around the Giza Plateau. The time is right, mankind is thirsty and ready for this once hidden knowledge now more than ever before.

Earth history is full of fantastic mythologies and stories of strange beings. For example, during the end of the IV millennium BC in ancient Egypt a mysterious people known as the Disciples of Horus appeared out of nowhere to assume command over the nation. Discoverers of their ancestral pre-dynastic tombs in northern Egypt found strange anatomical anomalies including elongated skulls. These weird skulls have also been found all over the world including in the now occupied ancient lands of Iraq. Discovered by Max Mallowan In 1933 at ‘Tell Arpachiyah’, the excavations turned up numerous elongated skulls now lost to the hands of the unknown. Elongated skulls have also been found on the ancient island of Malta, an area long known for curious megalithic temples predating the knowledge of the local inhabitants. Found in the megalithic temples of Hal Saflienti, Taxien, and Ggantja these skulls seem to belong to a completely different group of humans altogether. Discovered in the 1980’s but kept hidden from the public our only known evidence comes from the photographs and writings of Maltese researchers Dr. Anton Mifsud and Dr. Charles Savona Ventura.

These findings, once obscure and ostricizied, are now being validated thanks in part to the recent interest in ancient and modern alien mysteries. Perhaps the area with the most evidence of ancient alien contact and where the most recent stunning alien skull was discovered is in the highlands of Peru. So vast are the number of elongated skulls found in Peru and surrounding areas that their museums are filled with astonishing evidence that can longer be denied. In fact, the Inca people were known to bind and misshape their infants skulls on purpose. Who were they trying to imitate? Incan expert Brien Foerster has provided images and YouTube video footage of elongated skulls discovered in Peru. Some images even leave the hair on the back of your neck standing. Of course, after the initial shock wears off, we shouldn’t be too surprised to hear of our alien origins. As recently as August 10, 2011, NASA postulted that indeed we all might be aliens!

The veils of illusion are disappearing. The old world elite is beginning to lose its stranglehold of power over humanity. Their end game plan for a New World Order have been stalled due, in part, to a massive global awakening. This unprecedented paradigm shift may be the ultimate significance of 2012 as the Mayans were likely not talking about physical world destruction. They simply stated that one age was coming to an end while another was emerging. They called this the ‘age of revealing’ and a quick look around should convince anyone that indeed this is what is occurring in these auspicious times.

It seems important not to buy into the 2012 hype that the apocalypse is upon us. Consider that this heavily hyped time frame might be leveraged by the elite creating an opening for a false flag operation. Could this be leading up to a fake alien invasion? This would explain why for the past decade Hollywood has churned out a plethora of ‘aliens destroying the world’ scenario movies. Using predictive programming and mind control techniques, fleets of holographic motherships could appear hovering above major cities. It is conceivable that the scenario could be powered by the shadow military with real alien technology kept hidden for decades. Saving humanity from a so-called alien invasion could conceivably result in gaining more control over the human race.

How is it we are more prone to suspect that an alien race would want to harm us? Why is it unpopular to think of aliens as advanced and benevolent? Could they have been watching us and been involved in our development for thousands of years? The idea of an intergalactic council as is depicted on Star Trek and Star Wars comprised of non-human beings has great appeal to our collective imaginations. Perhaps they have been living among us and we are on the verge of discovering their alien origins. The age of revealing is upon us.

Creature of the Month - The Big Grey Man of Ben Macdhui by Dr. Bob Curran

Nearly all of us will have heard of the Yeti, that huge hominid who is said to live somewhere in the high Himalayas; others will have heard of the Sasquatch, that great, hairy man-like being, supposedly living somewhere in the depths of the wilderness of Wyoming. But the wilds of Scotland? Surely not! And yet somewhere on the slops of Ben MacDhui in Scotland’s Cairngorm Range, the United Kingdom’s second highest mountain after Ben Nevis, something is stirring. But what is it? Something along the lines of the Abominable Snowman of Tibetan folklore, or something else? Something that was once worshipped as an old god but which has now somehow been confined to the mountain?

This may well be the case regarding the Ferlas Mhor <although other sources refer to the creature as the Fir Liath> - the great Grey Man, the local name for a creature which is said to dwell somewhere around the peak of the mountain. The being which would appear to be an amalgamation of mysterious hominid and ancient god has intrigued climbers in the region <and many others> for countless years. The Scottish writer James Hogg, “the Ettrick Shepherd” <1770-1835> wrote about it and disclosed that he had spoken to an old man, still alive in his lifetime, who had “beheld the fahm glide o’er the fell”.

Although the Ferlas Mhor has been part of regional folklore for centuries, the first established record of him comes from an account written in 1891 in a work written by mountaineer Professor Norman Collie which was only made public in 1925 during a talk at the Cairngorm Club. The tale, from a sensible man of letters created a stir in scientific circles although it has to be said that the Professor did not actually see the Big Grey Man although he did sense its presence. As he was returning from the cairn on the summit of the mountain, a strange mist descended and Collie had the sensation that he was being followed by something bigger and heavier than himself. As his feet crunched on the mountain shale, he could hear footsteps following him. It seemed to be taking steps which were three or four times the length of his own. Although he looked, he could see nothing in the mist. However, he was aware of a lurking Presence, just out of sight. A feeling of terror overwhelmed him and he ran down the mountain through the fog till he reached the edges of the Rothiemurchis Forest far below. Many of his colleagues, however, remained sceptical – the account was simply a vivid after-dinner speech, inspired by some of the folklore that Collie had heard. However, his revelation inspired others to reveal their own stories of climbing on the ghostly mountain and gradually the story to the Big Grey Man began to take hold of the popular imagination.

Another who claimed to have an encounter with the entity was Peter Densham, an experienced and enthusiastic mountaineer. During World War II <1939-45>, he was in charge of airplane rescue work in the Cairngorms. One morning in May 1945, he set up from Aviemore and had climbed to the summit of Ben MacDhui, arriving there around mid-day. Without warning, one of the mountain mists suddenly closed in around him and he was suddenly shut in an eerie world of almost impenetrable silence. Mist wreathed around him, like so many phantoms trying to catch at him as he began to descend. As he approached the Lurcher’s Crag, a local landmark for climbers, a tide of apprehension washed over him. Although he saw nothing in the thick fog, he felt something pushing at him from behind, he also heard the shale on the side of the slope being disturbed as if by a massive foot. He ran as far as the Allt Mor Bridge and all the way past Glenmore before the Presence left him.

On another occasion he was climbing on Ben MacDhui with a colleague, Richard Frere when they became separated during the descent into the Lairig Ghru pass which led down to a plateau. Catching up on his companion Densham heard him talking to someone, as if to a companion. He wondered who it could be as they both seemed to be alone on this section of the mountain. Rounding the side of a cairn, he found Frere alone but talking to the empty air. He walked round the edge of the cairn where Frere was standing and found himself joining in the conversation with what seemed to be an invisible being. This carried on for a few minutes, then they suddenly realised they were talking to themselves although neither of them could remember what they had been talking about. Densham was convinced that this was some sort of supernatural psychic experience inspired perhaps by some ancient god of the mountain.

But is the Big Grey Man simply a strange experience or is it an actual physical creature which can actually be seen?   There is certainly a brief reference to a “spectre” which appeared in the Cairngorm Club Journal Vol. X, No. 56 January 1921, to the effect that :

“…..a big spectral figure has been seen at various times during the past five years, walking about on  the tops of the Cairngorms. When approached, so the story goes, the figure disappears. Moreover it has got a name – ‘Ferlie Mor’”  However, long before this, there were accounts, going back for centuries, of a great, grey man-like figure, moving on the upper reaches of the mountain. James Hogg, the writer referred to earlier <and who certainly is said to have climbed Ben MacDhui> was aware of these tales and referred to the creature using the local name of fahm. Unlike the Yeti of the Himalayas or the Bigfoot of the American wilderness the figure, always glimpsed at a distance, seems to have a spectral quality about it, as if it were a ghost and not something completely of this world.

This sheer “ghostliness” has led some people to speculate that the distant figure is not a living creature at all, but an atmospheric phenomenon akin to the Spectre of the Brocken in the German Harz Mountains. This is a strange anomaly where a massive and enlarged shadow of an observer is cast upon the upper surfaces of clouds moving opposite the sun. The “Spectre” appears when the sun moved behind a climber who is looking down from a height or ridge into a cloud bank or curtain of fog. It can sometimes be monstrously distorted or sometimes <depending on the sunlight> surrounded by refracted light. The so-called “fog image” of the Rigi Kulm in Switzerland is something of the same sort of phenomenon. And the same thing may exist on Ben MacDhui. This argument seems to be strengthened by a passage in a journal by the aforementioned James Hogg who recorded during his climb of the mountain to retrieve some ewes in 1785 that he reached a place on the upper slopes where he appeared to cast two shadows, one upright and well defined, the other dim and leaning backward.

Looking up, he saw two suns in the sky, one the regular one, the other what he calls a “mock sun”, less bright and more “ghostly”. It was of course an optical illusion which passed as he moved further up the mountainside. He did not experience the phenomenon again and he could not remember exactly where it had occurred but since then several mountaineers in the Cairngorms have tried to locate it, without success. The curious atmospheric conditions have long been put forward as the explanation for the appearance and disappearance of the distant grey figure on the slopes – and indeed there may be something in the theory.

This is added to by a certain amount of Celtic lore concerning the Fir Liath. Amongst the Celts, the entity was a minor god or devil, somewhere between a demon and a fairy – the embodiment of the sea or mountain mists. In Ireland, for instance, the being was often the enemy of sailors who became lost in he dreadful coastal fogs which plagued their shorelines. The Grey Man spread his cloak across the ocean in order to leave them wandering or to lure them to their doom. To this end, a silver coin was sometimes places in the bows of fishing boats as a form of protection. And the entity sometimes came ashore too, in order to torment land-dwellers. Near Ballycastle, in the very North of Ireland, is a great finger of rock hanging over a steep drop which is known as The Grey Man’s Path, which the being was supposed to use when it visited the shoreline. So the entity has a recognised supernatural history which is lodged somewhere in the Celtic mind and may manifest itself in “sightings” of the mysterious grey figure on the mountain slopes. It is interesting that the Big Grey Man is always associated with mountain mists – which often put climbers in peril – very much in the same way that the entity manifests itself when at sea. There may certainly be some sort of connection between the ancient Celtic god and the figure on the slopes of Ben MacDhui.

So, it’s all neat and tidy then – the Big Grey Man is no more than an atmospheric trick of the light, enhanced in the popular mind by a connection to Celtic myth and lore. Or at least that would be a neat answer – if it wasn’t for the footprints. Snow lies deep up on the ridges of the Cairngorms and from time to time curious footprints which seem to have been made by some gigantic creature are to be found there. Those who have seen them <and there are admittedly only a few> seem to suggest that the being who made them is around ten feet tall. Furthermore, its feet seem to be of peculiar shape. When measured, the foot would appear to be fourteen inches long and incredibly broad <a bit broader and slightly differently angled than a human foot>, somewhere about 14 to 20 inches across, with a stride of up to 7 feet. Many of these footprints are to be found around a geological location known locally as the Shelter Stone – does this have some sort of special significance for the creatures? The tracks have been photographed, most notably by the photographer J.A. Rennie who took pictures of similar tracks in the snow on Speyside in December 1952. However, the photos themselves appear to be highly questionable and it’s regrettable that no casts were taken for scientific examination.

So what’s up there on the mountainside? An unknown being? A trick of the light, exaggerated by popular imagination? Or some ancient god which can physically manifest itself in some way? As the mist closes in over the summit of distant Ben MacDhui, the answer seems as far away as ever.

B.C. means “Before Columbus” by Frank Joseph

By mid-21st Century, history textbooks in the United States will no longer describe Christopher Columbus as “the discoverer of America.” He lived at a time when the transatlantic passages of his forgotten predecessors had been almost totally obscured by Dark Age authorities devoted to purging the past of all non-biblical references. Only in the context of his post-medieval era, when such earlier crossings were virtually unknown, can his expedition be considered a “discovery.”

In truth, it was the latest in a long series of such voyages, most recently undertaken by Basque fishermen, who were known to cast their nets off the coast of Labrador at least thirty years before the Admiral’s three ships left Spain. An old nursery rhyme of uncertain provenance, and hinting at something hidden regarding his achievement, is still familiar to children throughout the English-speaking world: “In fourteen-hundred-and-ninety-two Columbus sailed the ocean blue.” Far less famous is its next line: “To prove that the old maps were true.” What “old maps”? How could he have possessed any charts to a territory yet to be discovered? What did the anonymous poet know that modern historians do not?

Perhaps it was something referred to in our time as the Vinland Map. It was discovered bound in a mid-15th Century history of the Mongols, the Hystoria Tartarorum, or "Description of the Tartars” (sometimes called “The Tartar Relation”), composed during 1445. The map it enfolded between two pages was created for a church council at Basel, Switzerland, five years earlier, and re-drawn from a 200-year older compilation of several, earlier maps indicating extensive knowledge of what is now the eastern United States, going back 1,000 years ago. A landmass portrayed by the map farthest to the left, identified as Vinilanda Insula, encompasses an area from Maine in the north to the Carolinas in the south; from the Atlantic Seaboard to the Susquehanna River in central Pennsylvania. The large region represented here must have been experienced by many Norse explorers over a protracted period of time. No, single discoverer could have undertaken such extensive journeys during the course of just one lifetime.

“Vinland” had been coined by the famous Norseman, Leif Eriksson, in 1001 A.D. Seventy-five years later, the German geographer, Adam of Bremen, wrote of Eriksson in Descriptio insularum Aquilonis ("Description of the Northern Islands"), “he has also reported one island discovered by many (Joseph’s italics) in that ocean, which is called Winland, for the reason that grapevines grow there by themselves, producing the best wine." Two later sources --- the Icelandic sagas of Eric the Red and “Of the Greenlanders” --- also told of Vinland. Appropriately, the entire coastline of Greenland appears on the Vinland Map in details supposedly unknown until the late 19th Century, when it was officially circumnavigated for the first time. Moreover, Greenland is represented on the Vinland Map as an island, a fact likewise unappreciated until as recently as 1896, only after it was thoroughly surveyed for the first time.

The Hystoria Tartarorum was acquired by Lawrence C. Witten II, an antiquarian book dealer, in 1957, when he offered it for sale to Yale University. Witten’s asking price was higher than his alma mater could afford, although another Yale alumnus, the wealthy philanthropist, Paul Mellon, agreed to purchase the book for his school, but only if the map it contained could be authenticated by independent experts. For three years, it was secretly subjected to the ruthless scrutiny of two curators from London’s British Museum and Yale’s own head librarian. In 1965, the outside world learned of the Vinland Map for the first time, when they proclaimed its Medieval authenticity, and Mellon purchased it for Yale, where it was insured for $25-million, and is still preserved at the University library. Notwithstanding Yale’s academic prestige or the professional credentials of its examiners, America’s archaeological establishment unanimously pounced on the Vinland Map as a transparent fraud. Their vituperative condemnation was based on little or no counter-evidence, but stemmed almost entirely from their unalterable supposition that the Map was, ipso facto, a fake, because Columbus was the first and only discoverer of America.

Their position was finally laid to rest in 2009 by world-class experts in document authentification at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Results of the Danes’ exhaustive study at Copenhagen’s International Conference on the History of Cartography were announced by Rene Larsen, rector of the School of Conservation: "We have so far found no reason to believe that the Vinland Map is the result of a modern forgery. All the tests that we have done over the past five years — on the materials and other aspects — do not show any signs of fraud."  Additional hard proof of the Norse impact on pre-Columbian North America followed soon after by fresh research of the Kensington Rune Stone, a runic-covered granite boulder found in north-central Minnesota during 1898. Subjected 107 years later to unprecedented scrutiny by state-of-the-art technology, professional geologist, Scott Wolter, demonstrated conclusively that the inscription revealed previously unnoticed letter-forms dating it to the mid-14th Century. “1362 A.D.” carved on one side was confirmed as the year in which the rune stone had been engraved by Swedish visitors to America’s Upper Middle West, 130 years before Columbus landed at San Salvador.

Wolter went on in 2010 to score another triumph for cultural diffusionism with unprecedented testing of an entirely different artifact. Discovered inside a prehistoric Indian burial mound by a Smithsonian Institution archaeologist just one year before the Kensington Rune Stone came to light, Tennessee’s Bat Creek Stone was dismissed by mainstream scholars as nothing more than a late 18th Century attempt by some unknown Native American at scratching out a written language. Their assumption was disproved during the 1970s, when a renowned Semanticist, Professor Cyrus Gordon, properly identified its one-line inscription as Hebrew, reading, “For Judah,” and dated it from 70 to 135 A.D. For nearly forty years, orthodox archaeologists resisted Gordon’s interpretation, until Wolter’s geological testing showed mineralization of the object consistent with a 1st Century provenance.

Although these three examples unquestionably document the arrival of Viking Age Norsemen, Medieval Swedes and Roman Era Jews, they are only some of the overseas’ travelers to North America centuries and even millennia earlier than 1492. Their hitherto neglected traces on the archaeological landscape are being progressively detected by technological advances in geology and related sciences, so much so, the old fashioned paradigm of “No Outside Contacts in the New World Before Columbus” is being replaced by a far richer, more deeply ancient legacy of transoceanic visitors.

What’s Your Light Quotient? by Sahvanna Arienta

Although we are all living a very physical existence, many of us fail to fully comprehend that our world is more metaphysical then physical. We are all energetic beings incased in a physical vessel that is simply just the vehicle for a portion of our soul's journey. We are all energetic off shoots of the original expansion of the universe or the big bang. Like the saying goes, a twinkle in your father’s eye, our energetic selves are but a spark of our source creator. Source is comprised of energy and this divine frequency is what connects each and every one of us on the planet. Since this energy connects us all, we all play our part in the balance of Source energy.

Source energy itself is entirely neutral; comprised of light and dark energy and any shade of grey in between. The way we incorporate this energy into our lives is totally up to us, our free will. Light energy is what elevates our spirits. It uplifts and inspires us. As we inadvertently draw in darker energies into our individual energetic field through our state of being, we begin to feel weighed down, heavy, cold. These energies are actually tangible if you are mindful of what the affects can be. You can easily sense the affects emotionally, physically and spiritually if you keep your awareness level elevated. Now the question and theme of this entry is “What is your light quotient” how much of Source energy do you incorporate into your life that is on the lighter side of the spectrum? People who draw in darker energetic fields tend to become stagnant in their lives; they may experience depression and lethargy or any number of undesirable effects. It is as simple as the law of attraction.

Light energy is available to all of us, all we need to do is incorporate it into our lives on a conscious level and doing so requires making conscious choices about our thoughts, intentions and general state of being. Since each thought and intention translates into energy we need to be ever mindful of so much more than our physical actions. Just as positive and loving thoughts (light energy) manifest positive and loving events in our lives, negative thoughts and emotions (dark energy) manifest unhappiness all within the natural flow of Source energy. Think of this as more cause and effect rather than divine retribution.

Now, to increase your light quotient, it is important to incorporate positive emotions and intentions into your daily routine. Finding that silver lining and always holding the belief that we are all loved and supported more then we can imagine should be a constant practice. Living in a state of gratitude (even when things don’t go our way) brings you an enormous amount of light.  Being consciously aware of your general state of being is all you need to do. Here are some examples of responsive practices that will raise your light quotient.

Unconditional love
Forgiveness
Trust
Kindness
Tolerance
Faith

Drawing from emotions that raise your light quotient is simple. It is only a matter of using your free will to align with the light portion of Source energy. Getting off course occasionally is to be expected, but those who are ever mindful of their own light quotient, not only enhance our own lives, but add to the light energy  and the healing power of the entire planet.
