Conspiracies of the NASA Kind by Nick Redfern

When I first immersed myself in the strange world of - as my new book accurately describes them - The NASA Conspiracies, I figured that in all probability I would be focusing a great deal of my attention on such issues as (A) UFO sightings reported by NASA astronauts; (B) the controversy surrounding the so-called Face on Mars; and (C) the always-inflammatory question of: were the Apollo moon-landings of 1969-1972 faked?

Well, I certainly did find myself spending much energy and time trying to unravel the truth behind such thought-provoking topics. However, what particularly amazed me when I began to dig even further into the secret world of NASA was the sheer, diverse range of incredible and unusual data of a truly conspiratorial, ufological and even paranormal nature that ultimately crossed my path. As someone who writes about the mysteries of this world and beyond on a regular basis, however, I guess I shouldn’t have been too surprised!

Never in my wildest dreams, however, did I imagine I would uncover stories relative to (A) a Mothman-like entity seen roaming by night the darkened corners of NASA’s Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in the 1990s; (B) NASA personnel engaged in the capture of a number of extremely hostile Chupacabras on the island of Puerto Rico only a few years ago; and even (C) NASA’s involvement in the snaring of a Bigfoot-type creature back in the 1960s! Sounds bizarre? You bet! But, when such tales come from credible sources with ties to NASA itself, maybe we should not be too quick to dismiss them. And I certainly do not – hence the reason why all of the above cases can be found in the pages of The NASA Conspiracies.

Then there were the very strange and controversial tales of cover-up and assassination relative to the catastrophic destruction of NASA’s Space Shuttles Challenger in 1986 and Columbia in 2003. In the same way that a veritable plethora of conspiracy theories has developed around the November 22, 1963 hit on JFK, and the overwhelmingly tragic events of September 11, 2001, I discovered that something very similar had happened with the Space Shuttle disasters. I managed, for example, to secure from the FBI an extensive file showing how its agents had investigated a number of claims that the destruction of Challenger and Columbia were the work of terrorists – in one case, allegedly using laser-guided technology to take out the craft, and in another case, where the prime source of the story was reportedly securing her information from supernatural beings from beyond the Earth!

Turning my attention towards all-things of a definitively UFO nature, I came across a number of incredible reports, collectively suggesting that certain elements of NASA know far more about this particular issue than the space agency might prefer to admit. Accounts of NASA personnel that had undergone so-called Alien Abduction experiences were brought to my attention, and I even secured a report from a NASA contractor who, in 1973, had a classic George Adamski-style Contactee experience in the New Mexico desert. What was particularly interesting, however, was NASA’s response to these cases: the agency addressed them very seriously, diligently, and even with a high degree of alarm and concern.

Also on the UFO issue: it became clear to me very early in my research that NASA had a particular interest in accounts of crashed UFOs, similar to that which allegedly occurred at Roswell, New Mexico in the summer of 1947. NASA’s interest went far beyond the controversial Roswell affair, however: reports poured into NASA from South America, the former Soviet Union, the United Kingdom and elsewhere. Someone, somewhere, deep within the dark depths of NASA, knows far more than they are prepared to tell about crashes and accidents of the alien variety.

And: what about the links between NASA and the Vatican? Are they working hand-in-glove to prepare us for the day that an official announcement will be made to the effect that, yes: aliens from beyond our solar-system really are amongst us? Certainly, I uncovered a mass of data suggesting that many students of the controversy are fully convinced such a program of cosmic revelation is indeed well underway.

From its earliest, formative years, right up until the present day, I can now confidently state, NASA has been a central, albeit largely secret, player in a strange, fantastic and incredibly weird world that is filled to the brim with accounts of aliens – living and dead, of its own personnel undergoing profound, face-to-face alien encounters, of classified files and hidden secrets, of enigmatic ancient structures on the surface of Mars, of extraordinary tales of a definitive whistleblower nature, and of much, much more of an earth-shattering and paradigm-changing nature.

Sensational and mind-blowing, they are, collectively, The NASA Conspiracies.

  1. Nick,
I really appreciate your investigative, more visceral approach to the paranormal.Reporting on the less well known aspects of our consensus reality has both a grounding effect to our more far flung theories as well as being a clarion call to look deeper below the surface of things. Yours is a vital role as both a level headed statesman for those of us who have experienced the anomalous directly, as well as avoiding the trap of jumping the shark, which is so easy to do when faced with so many strange occurrences. Best of luck to you and your book. I had just written a piece on my blog on the stealth military shuttle program and then shortly afterword came this announcement of your book. I look forward to reading it. Best of luck.

  2. Nick,
I just finished your book, and loved it. There needs to be more research on the role of NASA in the covering up of UFO evidence, and this is a great start.
I'd love to know your opinion of the abundant NASA footage (or purported NASA footage) out there on the Internet seeming to show UFOs. I'm thinking particularly of the videos put on YouTube by LunaCognita. A lot of the video clips clearly are just satellites and space junk and out-of-focus dust floating around, but amid all this is some footage that is astonishing (if real). But so far I've seen little in the way of critical discussion of this stuff.

  3. Hi Bruce & Eric

Many thanks for the words and comments - much appreciated!

Bruce: Yes, the whole angle of the military role in space is a very intriguing one, and some of the rumors are highly suggestive of some sort of clandestine space-program, to a degree at least.

Yes, I have seen most of the available footage you refer to, and you're right: when you filter out the very large amount of space-debris, satellites etc, there is a small percentage that is genuinely intriguing. I think there are certain pieces of film that deserve a lot of attention. Don't tempt me to do another NASA book! LOL.

  4. I've just finished your book and loved it. There should be more research on the role of NASA in concealing evidence of UFOs, and it is a good start. I am thinking in particular posted a video on YouTube clips LunaCognita.Puno clearly only satellites and space junk, and out-of-focus dust floating around, but because of all this is some footage is fantastic (if true). But so far I have seen little in the way of critical discussion of this issue ....
