An Interview with Mike Bara

We are very excited to be able to share an interview with Mike Bara author of The Choice. Mike is an aerospace engineering consultant, lecturer and the coauthor of the New York Times bestseller Dark Mission: The Secret History of NASA. He is a frequent speaker at venues including the Bay Area UFO Expo, the Conscious Life Expo, and the CE4 UFO conference in Roswell, New Mexico.

The Choice will be in stores October 15th.

NEW PAGE: What would you say is the central premise of The Choice? What is it all about?

BARA: Well, I call The Choice the “Unified Field Theory” of physics and metaphysics. My premise is that all of the so-called “laws of physics”—Newton, Einstein, and Quantum theory—are wrong. The true physics of the Universe is based on something called hyper-dimensional physics, which includes higher dimensions beyond this one. All energy comes from these higher dimensions, and since our thoughts are nothing but electromagnetic energy, that means that consciousness is also driven by communication with a higher dimension. A higher self, I guess you’d call it. We are connected to these higher dimensions through a field of energy that exists all around us.

NEW PAGE: So I take it you would disagree with Stephen Hawkings’ recent book, The Grand Design, in which he declared that the universe didn’t need a creator to exist?

BARA: Absolutely. I’m completely confident that I can prove there’s no such thing as the laws of physics; therefore I don’t see how Hawking can base his beliefs on them. Just the other day we saw a research paper which showed that one of the key pillars of physics, the fine structure constant, wasn’t constant at all. I predict that all of these basic pillars, like the speed of light being the upper speed limit of the Universe, will all eventually be overturned, and people like Hawking will fade into history. I think it’s really sad that the scientific materialists have so much sway in our society, since so many of their beliefs are based on ideas that have been disproven. People who believe that there is no God or buy into the Darwinian Delusion are going to have a hard time living in the new world that’s going to be revealed in the next decade or so.

NEW PAGE: The tag line for The Choice is

“You know The Secret, now make The Choice.”

What exactly does that mean?

BARA: We all know The Secret was wildly popular because of its promise that, by using the so-called “law of attraction,” you could create any kind of life you wanted. What I show people is that physics doesn’t work that way, and that choice, both conscious and unconscious, is far more powerful than attraction. We are also entering a time when we are all going to have to make a choice about the kind of world we want to live in; the physics of the current age will dictate that. The Secret is great if all you want is big house, a fast car, and a hot girlfriend, but even assuming that [this is] something feasible for you in your life path, it doesn’t do anything for the world at large. The Choice is about putting our collective will to work to choose more than just what we want for ourselves. It’s about choosing for the greater good of the people in our lives and the world around us. That’s far more powerful than just asking for a lot of money to buy a boat or something.

NEW PAGE: I take it that you’re not much of fan of The Secret, then?

BARA: I think it served a purpose, especially by getting young people to start thinking in metaphysical terms. But it can’t deliver what it promises without the other pieces to the puzzle. I think it can make people feel like there’s something wrong with them, like they aren’t able to do it right. In my next book, The Gift, I will take The Secret on directly and show people why it doesn’t work.

NEW PAGE: You say in the book that there is substantial scientific proof of what you call the “God Force” all around us. What is that proof?

BARA: There are lots of experiments which the mainstream scientists simply ignore, [experiments] that prove that there is an “Aether” all around us that binds us together and links everything we experience in this reality. In The Choice, I talk about some of the most interesting ones, like the work of Cleve Backster on plant consciousness and experiments on free swinging pendulums during eclipses. These and many others I cite in the book prove that there is no such thing as empty space, or the vacuum. We are all surrounded by this powerful field of energy. Some people, like David Wilcock, like to describe it as a conscious field of energy, but I disagree. It’s more of a field of energy that is consciously responsive to our hopes, dreams, and true desires.

NEW PAGE: You also say that astrology is real. How can you prove that?

BARA: I don’t have to—others already have. In the 1950s, RCA had an engineer named John Nelson conduct a study on why short-wave radio signals varied in quality at different times of the year. What he found was that the positions of the planets, especially the Jovian planets—Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus—had a major impact on the sun’s energy output. Not only that, but when the planets were in alignments that corresponded to positive aspects in astrology, the signals were better. When the alignments were in potentially negative astrological aspects, the solar storms got worse and the radio signals did also. My coauthor on Dark Mission, Richard C. Hoagland, also conducted some experiments which showed that planetary alignments effected electrical instruments and energy output. There’s absolutely nothing in mainstream physics which can explain any of that!

NEW PAGE: You keep mentioning that the physics dictate that we are in a time of change. Does any of that have to do with the Mayan calendar ending in 2012? Did the Mayans predict the world would end in 2012?

BARA: What hyper-dimensional physics says is that the alignments and positions of the planets dictate the physical reality—and our consciousness—here on earth. As we head into what I call the “2012 era,” it certainly looks like we are going to be forced to take sides. We are all going to have to choose the material or the spiritual, the intellect or the heart. In The Choice I talk about the true meaning of the word apocalypse, that it really just means a lifting of the veil, a time when things will be revealed. When these revelations happen, and they have already started, we are all going to have to make our choice. Now if you look at the upcoming astronomical alignments in astrological terms, they all show increasing cultural polarization, new questioning of our long-held beliefs about a lot of things, and a series of upheavals which may be dramatic or traumatic. It just depends on what we choose for ourselves as a people and as a planet. The apocalypse is not something that happens to you, it’s something you get to actively participate in. The question is, which path will we choose?

As to the Mayans and the end of the world, all they really have to say about 2012 is that Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent god, will ride a “serpent rope” from the center of the galaxy and will manifest in our 3D reality to judge us on that day. What I show in The Choice is that this “serpent rope” is a torsion beam, a pulse of energy from the alignment with the center of the galaxy. But the judgment is not, I believe, anything like the biblical Day of Judgment. What Quetzalcoatl will be judging is our intent for the planet we live on. If we are mired in fear, scarcity, and selfishness, then I think some of the negative physical earth changes are a distinct possibility. But if we bathe ourselves in love, light, and compassion, I think it will be something very different, very much better. It’s really up to us. The Mayan prophecies talk about each of us facing a “Hall of Mirrors” where we must confront our true selves. So I think the judgment they speak of is first our judgment of ourselves, and then Quetzalcoatl’s judgment of our intent as a planet.

NEW PAGE: Did other ancient cultures also view this period in history as important?

BARA: Yes. In the book I talk about the Hindu-Vedic Yuga cycles, and how they also end right in the same period. They also speak of the period in terms of sweeping change and of moving from the negative Kali Yuga age to the positive golden age. The Hopi Indians of the Southwest also see a period of change coming, and a time when we will have to make a choice. What I think is imperative is that we all realize this change is not only coming, it’s already begun, and the sooner we adapt to it, the sooner we can focus on the change coming out the way we want it to.

NEW PAGE: Do you think that the often cited alignment of the solar system with the center of the galaxy in 2012 will have an effect on us here on earth?

BARA: The physics says it will. Richard C. Hoagland has conducted a number of hyper-dimensional physics experiments which show that the yearly alignment with the galactic center causes ripples or pulses in the energy field around the planet. As we build up to 2012, and beyond to 2023 (which is when the Vedas say the Yuga cycles shift), this alignment and the alignments on other certain days of the calendar will be days of special importance, days when we can set the intent of the planet and give our desires an amplified effect.

NEW PAGE: Can you give us some days in particular?

BARA: Yes. The last big date was November 9, 2009. That was when, by Carl Calleman’s reading of the Mayan calendar, we transitioned from the sixth day to the sixth night of the current phase of the calendar. I myself had a really profound spiritual experience within about 30 minutes of the calendar changing over. That’s when I began to realize that all of this stuff was real, and that the physics was dictating my consciousness along with everybody else’s. I chose in that moment to write the book. The next big dates coming up are the eclipse on December 21, 2010, exactly two years to the day before the end of the long-count calendar cycle, and then there are several dates in 2012. I plan to arrange special events for each of these upcoming dates.

NEW PAGE: You say these alignments will affect our consciousness. Can you describe how? How do our individual choices affect what happens to the planet?

BARA: Well, my experience is a prime example. What’s going to happen is people are going to start waking up. It’s already happening. People I would never in a million years expect to care about these things are asking questions about 2012 and the Mayans and such. I live in LA, and you can meet some of the most shallow, materialistic people on the face of the earth here, but even they are beginning to see the light.

We have to understand that each of us matters. Our collective spiritual energy is far more powerful than all the world’s nuclear arsenals combined. What I tell each of us to do in The Choice is choose a path. I don’t care if you’re Catholic, Buddhist, Mormon, or if you choose to pray to aliens. Just pick something, go to that quiet place in your heart, and tell the Universe what you want—not just for yourself, but for your loved ones and the community around you, and for the world.

NEW PAGE: Where will you be on December 21, 2012, when the Mayan calendar ends?

BARA: A year ago, before the experience that prompted me to write The Choice, I would have told you I’d be in Vegas throwing down everything I had on 33 on the roulette wheel. Now, all I want to be in a quiet, private place with the person I love, and just be. That’s my choice.

Can We Confront the Coming Shift with the Physics of Our Minds?

Should we be concerned about the apocalyptic prophecies of the Mayan calendar?

Will the huge astronomical event predicted for 2012 affect our consciousness?

New York Times best-selling author, Mike Bara, examines these questions and more in his new book, The Choice: Using Conscious Thought and Physics of the Mind to Reshape the World.

Bara looks into various disciplines, including Kirlian photography, the Princeton Global Consciousness Project and recent IQ testing, all of which seem to reveal evidence of an aetheric field of energy connecting all things. He introduces the reader to the basic arguments made by researchers around the predictions regarding 2012, and he documents and examines the meaning of astronomical events.

Bara writes, “There is an underlying physics, not related to Einstein or quantum mechanics or gravity, driving consciousness shifts. An energetic pulse is coming from the center of our galaxy sometime in the next several years. The change we are going to experience, whether in our conscious minds or our physical reality, is governed by it.”

He shows how human consciousness can dramatically reduce the physical effects caused by energy surges of a powerful underlying force. And, lays out the ways that each of us can influence the coming shift in consciousness and physical reality.

The Choice includes:
  • Detailed descriptions of a revolutionary new theory of physics that proves the theory behind The Secret
  • How to use your own inner light—the power of your mind and spirit—to influence the physical world
  • How governments worldwide are preparing for the coming change
  • How to determine your place in the Next Age
  • What the ancients knew and how astrological alignments are related
  • Our roles as individuals in the coming period of transition

Tips to Help Your Intuitive Child as they begin a New School Year

As kids gear up for the upcoming school term, many of them have apprehension. Maybe he is attending a new school this year. Perhaps she is worried about how her body is changing, or if the cool-looking Batman lunch box is going to be accepted by his peers.

Some sensitive children have deeper concerns. Some fear how their intuitive skills and psychic gifts will play out in their relationships and academic studies. For example, the empathic child may dread being overwhelmed by the emotional energy of the classroom again this year. Your daughter who sees ghosts may worry about whether or not her friends will believe her if she shares this insight. Will she find emotional support or ridicule from significant others?

If your teen son has intuitive knowledge about a teacher secretly having a criminal record, would he feel safe enough to relate this information to you or another faculty member? What if he doesn’t report it and something bad happens to a fellow student? These are legitimate concerns intuitive children face as they enter a new school year.

While there are programs for advanced students of academia, we find little support in the public school system for children with psychic or intuitive abilities. Instead of being encouraged to use their skills to help others and experience a world greater than the one on this earth plane, they are many times ridiculed for being different. They may try to shut down their intuitive gifts in order to be considered “normal” by their peers.

Parents who are aware of their child’s concerns will want to provide as much support and understanding as possible. In this article, I will share ways to support an intuitive learner, but first, let’s briefly look at the five types of intelligence: physical, mental-creative, emotional-social, intuitive, and spiritual. More in-depth information is available in my book, Raising Intuitive Children.

The child with physical natural intelligence is one who learns by doing; he has great motor skills, enjoys moving his body, and may be athletic. The world is experienced by touch, feeling, and movement. Add an intuitive slant to that and you have a child who experiences the world through his body and receives feedback from his environment by means of sensory organs in his muscles and joints.

The child with a natural mental-creative intelligence is very artistic, inventive, and inspired from within; she may enjoy spending time alone rather than in a crowd. She may be a musical prodigy, artist, or math genius. Along comes intuition and this child can become totally absorbed with the task at hand. Bouts of creativity may cause her to seem manic. She may explore so deeply that she loses track of time, forgets to eat, or spends the entire summer reading instead of playing with other kids.

Young social butterflies with emotional social intelligence never meet a stranger, are very outgoing, and hate to be alone. They derive their energy from being around others and may show entrepreneurship at an early age. To this mix, add intuitive abilities and you have a child who may rebel about going to a babysitter because the emotional energy of that person is not compatible or the child feels the sitter’s emotional pain. The social child who is sensitive to the energy of others may experience emotional overload in public—especially in a large crowd.

More and more children are showing signs of the fourth and fifth types of intelligence (intuitive and spiritual). These psychic and spiritual intuitive types have an expanded awareness of nonphysical worlds and have the ability to know things beyond what they have been formally taught. Many are able to see or hear in the spirit realm, use telepathy to communicate with others, follow gut-level feelings, or are sensitive to subtle energy in their environment.

It’s important as parents to consider how a child’s experiences today will influence him as an adult. Most of the kids he hangs out with now will probably not be in his life after high school. Rather than bowing to peer pressure or conforming to experience life only through conventional methods, it’s wise to help children accept and develop this insightful aspect of intelligence just as you would an art or academic talent. But, How?

Here are the best ways to support your intuitive learner:
1. Suspend judgment and simply accept the experiences your child reports
2. Be a responsive listener
3. If you need more information, educate yourself through books or other avenues of information 4. If you need help, ask for it without feeling embarrassed by your child’s gift
5. If medical doctors suggest medications to suppress psychic awareness or modify behavior, seek alternative solutions. Brain mapping using EEG topography found that creativity and intuition are associated with theta waves. Children and adults with ADHD produce excessive theta waves.
6. Accept intuitive intelligence as a normal way to learn, develop skills, and interpret life’s opportunities and challenges.
7. Celebrate your child’s talents and diversity.
8. Let your child’s teachers/counselors know that you would appreciate their support of your child’s energetic sensitivity to the unseen realm.
9. Encourage the school to include curriculum that supports and accepts intuition as a positive tool for inner guidance.

An intuitive child moves through different environments every day, and each environment presents opportunities and challenges for learning new skills. Knowing the challenges faced by the intuitive child enables parents to discuss, plan, and help with personality and skill development.

"So What if I Die Out of Shape?"

Our 'Five-Toe' is even Cuter than this Sloth!

This quote-of-the-day comes from a long-time patient and retired doctor who calls himself ‘The Five-Toed Sloth”. He retired from doctoring due to back/hip pain and we’ve been working together for about 5 years. He is definitely a believer in the ability of movement to heal pain and is hugely grateful for that pain relief.

So ‘Five-Toe’ (what we call him for short) came in discouraged and out blurted a variation on the ‘death statement’. You’ve probably heard something along the lines of: “It doesn’t matter what I do; we are all going to die anyway”. Yes, but wouldn’t it be great if we could all live while we are still breathing?

Do you know anyone who has spent years of their lives hindered because of disease or pain? Is that really living? And how much of that disease and pain is preventable? Almost all heart disease, all Type II diabetes and approximately 50% of all cancers are preventable with healthier diet decisions. Colon cancer risk is reduced another 30% with daily exercise, depression is reduced, energy is increased, pain is reduced… In fact, I’ve never seen a single study that said: “For heaven’s sake STOP exercising and just eat Cupcakes!”

But let’s get back to good ol’ “Five-Toe”. I don’t put him through a series of therapeutic exercises twice weekly in order to prevent people from sadly shaking their heads at his funeral: “Too bad he died so out-of-shape.” No, we work together so he can live while he is still breathing. So that when he does pass away no one will say: “What a relief; he suffered for so long.” No, they’ll remember him for doing just what he wanted and just what he loved every day that he lived.

An Exercise in Sensing Your Intuition

Where does intuition come from? Is it a human trait we all have inside, or is it a gift that comes from an external source? Are only some people are blessed with this gift?

I personally believe that intuition is an internal guidance that we are all blessed with; however, some people trust their intuition and pay attention to their instincts more than others. Children are especially aware of their intuition. Some adults don’t recognize their intuition because they have been conditioned to live by what they can see and prove and have been taught that their emotions are not trustworthy. I’ve found the exact opposite to be true.

Our ancestors used their intuition or instincts to survive whether it was to help them find food, predict weather, or know when to hide or flee. Your intuition can signal a warning to help you steer away from a dangerous person or situation. It can also make you aware of an opportunity when it’s being presented.

Getting information from your intuition can come subtly in the form of ideas, thoughts, emotions, a sense of knowing, an internal voice, a gut feeling, or through the physical senses.

How much do you trust your intuition? Have you ever had a situation where all the facts looked like things were in order, but inwardly you felt that something wasn’t quite right or on the up and up? What do you do when your gut goes against the flow or discloses something deeper or hidden? Do you pay attention to it, or do you ignore it? The more you pay attention to it, the more you will learn to recognize your own internal guidance.

The word "intuition" is the noun form of the verb "to intuit," which comes from Latin, meaning "to look in" or "to look on." Here is an exercise to help you look in on your intuition and use it as a guidance tool when you are faced with making a decision.

Think about the situation you are currently in. Perhaps you are about to launch into a new business venture, or make a change to your residence, or leave a relationship. You probably have at least two choices to make: either go for it, or turn away the opportunity—at least for the time being.

Take a deep breath to center your thoughts and become aware of your feelings. As you release the breath, hold the thought that you should go for the opportunity or change being presented to you.

Now think of the situation again and consider turning away the opportunity. Did you feel an inward shift?

· Which thought made you feel peaceful, happy, or relaxed?

· Which thought made you feel tense, uneasy, or agitated?

· Did you notice yourself wanting to hold your breath when considering either thought?

The thought that made you feel at ease is more than likely the choice you should make.

Fear should not be a factor in any decision you make. Feeling fear when you are considering your options, could mean that you are picking up on the energy of another person—perhaps someone is urging you to make a decision that you really don’t think is best, but you are afraid of the consequences of disappointing them. Being true to yourself means making the decision that is best for you and your divine path.

Once you find that feeling of contentment regarding a decision you are about to make, continue to hold that sensation and get used to how it feels. This is your instructive instinct. This is spiritual guidance or intuition that you can learn to trust and follow.

“Impossible” Ideas That Have Changed Our Lives:
Scientists Were Wrong When They Scoffed at Crazy Theories, Inventions and Cures

In the newest of their best-sellers––Science Was Wrong: Startling Truths About Cures, Theories, and Inventions “They” Declared Impossible––authors Stanton T. Friedman, MSc and Kathleen Marden have collected fascinating stories about the pioneers who created or thought up “impossible” ideas that were deemed crazy nonsense, yet ultimately revolutionized our world.

During the last two centuries, a veritable explosion of new cures, theories, techniques, and inventions have transformed and modernized aviation, space travel, medicine, communications and warfare, to name a few fields. Initially, many of them were deemed unworkable, even preposterous. For instance, before the Wright brothers flew for the first time at Kitty Hawk, a top scientist declared that “no possible combination of known substances, machinery and forms of force can be united in a practical flying machine...”

How many people have suffered or died while waiting for new cures to be accepted?

How many inventions have been ignored or quashed?

How much human progress was delayed space travel, warfare and other endeavors?

Science Was Wrong is an eye-opening read filled with in-depth research and written in a captivating style.

The authors, Stanton T. Friedman and Kathleen Marden are among the “who’s who” of their field. Stanton T. Friedman has appeared on hundreds of radio and TV programs, including the History Channel, “Nightline”, four times on “Larry King Live”, numerous times on “Coast to Coast AM”, and in many documentary films. He is also the author of Flying Saucers and Science: A Scientist Investigates the Mysteries of UFOs , Top Secret/Majic: Operation Majestic-12 and the United States Government's UFO Cover-up and Crash at Corona: The U.S. Military Retrieval and Cover-Up of a UFO.

Kathleen Marden is a social scientist, author and educator who has served as the International Director of field investigator training for the Mutual UFO Network. She has appeared in many TV documentaries and in radio programs, and has lectured throughout the United States. The duo previously collaborated on their best-seller Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience: The True Story of the World's First Documented Alien Abduction.

To write my award-winning book called Exploring Chakras, I went back to the original Vedic and Tantric scriptures of ancient India to find the most authentic information about the subject.

In my book I talk about 14 main chakras that are mentioned in the ancient scriptures of India. 7 major chakras that we all know and love, and 7 others that we might not be aware of. Many of these chakras are in our skull or above our head.

Okay, let us begin by learning to pronounce the word "chakra." I know this is challenging, considering that you can't hear me. But right now, say the name "Chuck." As in "Chuck E. Cheese's" Pizza. Now say the word, "run." Okay, now put the 2 together but eliminate the "n" at the end of the word "run," and replace it with an "h." "Chuck-ruh"-that's (approximately) how to say the word "chakra."

There is no such pronunciation as "shock-rah" in the Sanskrit language, or in the English language. That's how most people mispronounce the word. I'm now on a worldwide campaign to teach everyone how to pronounce this Sanskrit word "chakra" correctly-"chuck-ruh." Just remember, Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza, when you want to pronounce the word.

"Chakra" is a Sanskrit word, meaning "wheel." Why is it a "wheel"? Because it has a hub, and it has spokes. The hub is where many conduits of subtle energy intersect, and the spokes are the radiations of subtle energy. So a chakra is a concentrated center of subtle energy.

What subtle energy are we talking about?

There is a subtle form of energy that gives life to you as a living human being and also to the universe. The fundamental component of your being is consciousness. The life force energy called "prana" is the medium through which consciousness expresses.

The life energy in prana flows through your subtle bodies, sustaining all levels of your being. Prana is what gives you life. Without prana, you would cease to live. Prana is also known as "chi" in China and as "ki" or "reiki" in Japan.

What do I mean by "subtle bodies"?

You are a multidimensional being of light, living in a multidimensional universe. Although this statement sounds fantastic, it entirely concurs with the latest findings of modern physics-this universe consists of vibration and light in multiple dimensions.

Similarly, your own body is made of light and sound. And this physical shell is not the only form you inhabit. In fact, your body is multi-layered and multi-dimensional.

According to yogis of ancient India, several sheaths (called "koshas" in Sanskrit language) surround and permeate your physical body. They are called "sheaths" because they cover up your true higher self, called the "atman."

These sheaths are invisible to ordinary human sight but visible to clairvoyant sight. These radiant, brilliant, multicolored sheaths of pure crystalline light make up your "aura" or "auric field."

1. Your "annamaya kosha" (physical body or food sheath), so-named because it is a product of food, requires food, dies without food, and, after death, becomes food for plants and animals.

2. Your "pranamaya kosha" (vital sheath), through which your vital life energy ("prana") flows.

3. Your "manomaya kosha" (mental sheath), a mental body that stores your thought-forms, habits, conditioning, beliefs, and experiences.

4. Your "vijnanamaya kosha"(intellect sheath), which consists of higher mind, your intellect, as well as your ego, or sense of I-ness.

5. Your "ananadamaya kosha" (blissful sheath), a mere reflection of the true radiance of your real "atman" (higher self).

Each subsequent sheath is larger than and permeates the former sheaths. In addition to these five sheaths, you also have three higher bodies of immeasurable beauty, bliss, truth, and glory: your "'I AM' body," your "God
body," and your "Absolute body."

Pranic energy flows through your pranic sheath (pranamaya kosha) in fixed pathways called "nadis" (conduits or channels). (Some of these nadis are also known in China as the acupuncture meridians.) In your pranic body there are hundreds of centers of concentrated vital energy where many nadis intersect, called "chakras" (literally "wheels"). (Some of these are known as the acupuncture points.) However, the nadis and chakras are by no means physical. If you dissected a corpse, you would detect no nadi or chakra anywhere.

The three most important nadis through which prana flows are "sushumna," "ida," and "pingala." Sushumna is the median channel reaching from the base of your spine, near the tailbone, all the way up to the top of your skull. Ida and pingala coil around this central canal . "Pingala nadi" and "ida nadi" govern the sympathetic and parasympathetic aspects of your autonomic nervous system. Sushumna nadi is the conduit of "kundalini," often called "serpent power" or "mystic coil"-a special spiritual cosmic pranic energy that remains dormant until it is awakened, usually through spiritual practices.

The term "kundalini" derives from the Sanskrit root "kundal" (curled up), because, in ordinary humans, it remains dormant, coiled at the base of your spine. As kundalini wakes up and rises up your spine, it opens specific chakras while traveling to its destination at the top of your skull. Opening your chakras brings greater health, well-being, energy, and, ultimately, spiritual enlightenment.

The 14 main chakras through which kundalini energy flows are as follows:

1. Muladhara, which means "base" or "root," because it is the lowest chakra in the body. The root chakra, located at the base of your spine near the tailbone,is responsible for excretion, sense of smell, and earth element. It is associated with the adrenal glands.

2. Svadhishthana, which means "one's own self," because it is where the individual comes into being through procreation. The sacral chakra, in the coccyx region, governs sexuality, procreation, sense of taste, and water element. It is associated with the gonads.

3. Manipura, which means "city of jewels," because it has so many conduits of pranic energy intersecting there, and because it is the place where the fires of digestion burn. The navel chakra in the lumbar region, oversees digestion, sense of sight, and fire element. It is associated with the pancreas.

4. Anahata, which means "unstruck sound," because the unstruck sound is the sound of silence. And Anahata is where the silence of your divine consciousness resides. The heart chakra, in the thoracic region, is the seat of consciousness and your soul. It is the gateway to higher consciousness. This chakra manages the sense of touch and air element. It is associated with the thymus gland.

5. Hrit chakra, which means "heart." Right below the anahata chakra, it is the seat of devotion to God and fulfillment of all desires.

6. Vishuddha, which means "purification," (and I'm not sure why). The throat chakra, in the cervical region, deals with sense of hearing, and ether element, and creative expression. It is associated with the thyroid gland.

7. Talu, the nectar chakra, in medulla oblongata, is related to the uvula, the current of pranic energy, and the flow of "soma" (nectar of immortality).

8. Ajna, which means "command center," because it is situated in the area of the glands that regulate the entire endocrine system. The third eye chakra, in the pineal gland/hypothalamus area, seat of the higher self (atman), is responsible for higher wisdom and clairvoyant sight.

9. Manas, which means "sensory mind." In the upper part of ajna chakra, it is the center of your lower mental vehicle: instincts, impressions, and habits.

10. Indu, which means "Moon." In the front part of the brain, it is the seat of your intellect and higher mind.

11. Nirvana, which means "dissolution." At the top of your brain, it is associated with the annihilation of your ego.

12. Guru, which means "light/darkness" or "teacher." Above your head in the lower part of sahasrara chakra, it is the center in which divine light dispels the darkness of ignorance.

13. Sahasrara chakra, which means "thousandfold." The thousand-petaled lotus above your head, itis the center of divine union, integration, and

14. The Bindu, which means "point." In the upper sahasrara chakra, it is a center of infinitely concentrated energy, the fountainhead from which your entire subtle energy system springs.

You might be interested to know the colors, planets, days of week, and gemstones associated with the seven major chakras. These colors and planets are based on ancient Vedic astrology, called "Jyotish."-not based on modern New Age ideas.

1. Day of week: Sunday ("Day of the Sun"). Planet: Sun. Solar (Sun) plexus chakra: Color: red. Gem: ruby. Why Sun? Associated with vital energy and the fire of digestion.

2. Day of week: Monday ("Day of the Moon"). Planet: Moon. Sacral chakra: Color: orange. Gem: pearl or moonstone. Why Moon? Associated with emotions, fecundity, and fertility.

3. Day of week: Tuesday (Mardi or Mars day in French). Planet: Mars. Root chakra: Color: yellow. Gem: red coral. Why Mars? Associated with primal needs and survival instincts. Mars is God of war.

4. Day of week: Wednesday (Mercredi or Mercury day in French). Planet: Mercury. Thousand petalled lotus chakra above head. Color: green. Gem: emerald. Why Mercury? Associated with the brain-nearly an infinite network of interrelated communication. Mercury is planet of communication.

5. Day of week: Thursday (Jeudi or Jupiter day in French). Planet: Jupiter. Third eye chakra. Color: blue. Gem: yellow topaz or yellow sapphire. Why Jupiter? Associated with higher mind, wisdom, and intuition. Jupiter in Sanskrit is literally translated as "Guru." Jupiter is associated with higher learning.

6. Day of week: Friday (Vendredi or Venus day in French). Planet: Venus. Throat chakra. Color: indigo. Gem: diamond. Why Venus? Associated with creative expression. Venus is goddess of beauty and creativity.

7. Day of week: Saturday ("Day of Saturn"). Planet: Saturn. Heart chakra. Color: violet. Gem: blue sapphire or amethyst. Why Saturn? Associated with contraction and expansion (beating of the heart) and also highest vibration.

Heart is the key to the entire chakra system. It is the seat of consciousness and therefore has the highest vibration. Saturn is the deepest in space and therefore subtlest of the 7 inner planets.

Was Nostradamus a Magician? a Seer? or, an Ordinary Man?

Top Scholar Reveals New Research

“Readers seeking a balanced look at the controversial astrologer will do well to start here.” — Publishers Weekly

“Surprising to find that a book on such a topic can be so readable, interesting and encompassing. Peter Lemesurier is a scholar with a world-wide reputation in esoteric studies and is deeply knowledgeable about...all the significant works that have been [previously] published....” —David Hill, Emeritus Professor of Computer Science, University of Calgary

Was Nostradamus, the medieval “Prophet of Provence,” a magician, a doctor, an astrologer and a seer? Or, was he just a man using ordinary techniques to make the predictions that are of such fascination today?

Author of the new book, Nostradamus, Bibliomancer: The Man, the Myth, the Truth, Peter Lemesurier is the calm center of conscientious and accurate research in the uneasy world of Nostradamas followers and scholars. Widely recognized as the world authority on the subject, in the new book Lemesurier investigates the Prophecies of Nostradamus in the context of the time and the culture in which they were composed.

Of vital interest to both devotees and debunkers of the prophet, Nostradamus, Bibliomancer presents valuable insights into the medieval world as well as the so-called seer’s life and work. After re-examining the original sources, Lemesurier deduces that Nostradamus was neither a doctor nor an astrologer, nor even (by his own admission) a prophet. He merely believed that history repeats itself, and thereby projected past events into the future. Lemesurier believes that he used the process of bibliomancy––randomly selecting extracts of randomly chosen books––then claimed “divine inspiration.” Unsurprisingly, Nostradamus has almost never been proved right.

After more than thirty years of studying the history and culture of the ancients and probing the works that Nostradamus and others of his era produced, Lemesurier confronts the controversies, bringing to light new facts, new insight and startling new conclusions about one of history’s most notorious individuals.

Nostradamus, Bibliomancer is a "must-read" for anyone seeking to learn more about this remarkable 16th century figure and his metaphysical and encoded prophetic visions. Adding to the value of the new book is an enclosed CD of facsimiles of the original prophecies, from 1555 to 1668 editions.

About the Author:

The leading English-language expert on Nostradamus, Peter Lemesurier is the author of several books on the subject, including the bestselling title, The Nostradamus Encyclopedia, and The Unknown Nostradamus, 500th anniversary edition.

Lemesurier has worked as a linguist, educator, translator, musician, and jet pilot. A charismatic speaker, he has appeared on numerous TV productions and radio programs, including, Discovery Channel, History Channel, National Geographic Channel, and UK’s Channel 4.
